THE REASON WHY I SMILE

The truth about my smile is that for years I HATED it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You see I have small teeth and at a very young age someone brought that to my attention.  I can't quite remember who (which is funny)  I just remember around 11 or 12 years old when I had all my adult teeth another kid ask me did I still have my baby teeth or were my gums to big?   On top of that they thought it was the funniest thing ever.  I NEVER forgot that day.

It's hard to have a flaw that you can't hide because its on your face.  There was no way for me to leave my smile at home it went with me everywhere I went.  If I covered my mouth or tried to laugh with my mouth closed people would ask me what's wrong.   Then I would bring attention to what I thought was the worst thing in the world.  I'd  say I have little teeth.  Then I'd make the jokes about myself.  Maybe I still have my baby teeth or my gums are to big and laugh to hide my embarrassment.  So many people were like you have a great/beautiful smile.  Somehow I still didn't believe it.  That one negative comment so many years ago spoke way more loudly then the numerous compliments I received.  I would always think they're just being nice.

Today I proudly wear my smile because I know that my beauty comes from within and my smile is just an external view of how I feel on the inside.  I also know that when people pick on your flaws it's because they feel flawed and want to divert the attention away from themselves even young kids. I let that person take my power away for years and it wasn't even about me.  That's the silly part of this.

Usually the flaw that sticks out the most is the most beautiful part of you.  God brings attention to that one thing not because it's bad or it's ugly.   Really that one thing holds your power!!!!!!!!!!

When I walk in a room and smile I know I can change the atmosphere.  People light up and say you have a great smile.  Now when they say that I smile even harder with my baby teeth.   I smile even when I'm down not for me but for the person who I know may be going through something.  The woman on the register who doesn't know how she's going to pay her babysitter.  The man in the doctors office who just found out he has cancer.  The woman with the autistic son who's been up for three days.  The family I just passed on the street who lives in their car.  The mother who just lost her child.  The man who just lost his job and has to go home and tell his wife who knows they are already in the hole.

When I smile I give somebody hope that things will be okay.  When I smile I shift somebody's mood for the day.  When I smile somebody smiles back and returns that hope to me.  When I smile somebody smile back at me and shifts my mood when I'm really not feeling good.  So who am I to NOT use the gift that God gave me.  He put it right on my face for a reason.   We go around looking for our gifts and all of them are right there within us we were born with them.  It may be your hands to play music or our feet to be an athlete.  Your eyes to guide the blind or your heart to show compassion to the sick.  Your voice to tell jokes or sing.  Sometimes something we are searching for is right there within us and some one told you shut up stop being a clown or you have big eyes or huge feet or you're to mushy or your fingers are long and weird or your voice is to low and we bury that gift deep down inside.

Today I challenge you to look at that flaw as your greatest gift and work that magic God has given you.  Think back to that person who stole your power so many years ago and say quietly to yourself thank you for pointing out my greatest gift.  I get it now!!!!!!   I also challenge you to talk to your children, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends or any children you are around and let them know that there is power in the words they speak explain to them they may  cause someone to bury their gift, explain to them that thing someone pointed out to them is their greatest gift.

It's really a matter of shifting your thinking.  We are all fearfully and wonderfully made.

Dear Mistress,

Leave my _________’s (fill in the blank) husband alone!!! You’re not there when she’s crying alone!!! You are not there when she can’t get her own husband on the phone. All kinds of thoughts run through her head like he wouldn’t do this to me again he has to be somewhere hurt or dead!!!!! she frantically calls everyone she knows all the while deep in her heart she a already knows!!!! All of that just to be embarrassed again because you don’t realize how many times she has called all his and her friends!!!!!

Maybe you don’t care but you’re killing her spirit. You see the stress from you is weighing down our whole family. SHE has lost 20lbs because she can’t eat or sleep worrying and wondering how things went this far. While trying to pretend everything’s fine and not falling apart.

Dear Mistress Every time his phone vibrates because he never lets it ring it’s like a stab in HER heart because when it’s you he treats her so mean, so they can argue and he can have a reason to leave and even when she doesn’t feed into it, when he stays he is distant and mean. SHE is trying to be strong so the kids don’t know what’s going on. Even though she knows the kids know, all she wants to do is cushion the blow.

Those happy holidays are not so happy anymore because he makes excuses to be gone.  Oh when he does stay home for the holiday he has an attitude because you keep blowing up his phone!!!!!

Why can’t you just leave them alone!!!!!!!!!

He keeps trying to do what’s right but your begging and pleading and threatening to tell keeps interrupting their lives!!!!!!! Don’t you freakin get it he made a vow in front of God his family and ours. All you are is a terrible mistake a distraction from fate!!!!!! You have her hair turning grey and she’s lost the smile on her beautiful face. She questions herself as to being a woman. She’s so tired of holding on for THEIR children!!!

How would you feel if it was your___________!!!!!!!!

Did he tell you their going to counseling and  the whole church is praying for them. Did he tell you it was over between you and him?  Because he promised her it is over and over again. Did you know every time she tries to leave HE BEGS HER TO STAY!!!!!!!!! Do you know she’s carrying his child right now yes today!!!!! Let me let you in on a little secret NO he doesn’t sleep in a different room. Even though you’ve convinced yourself that that’s true!!!!!! The fact in this matter is there is no room for you!!!!!!

Dear Mistress get out of our life!!!!!!!!!!!! We all actually love him. We have our own memories with him. What will we do with all the pictures? Who do you think you are to interrupt ALL our lives????? You’re hurting mothers, fathers, sisters, children, aunties, uncles, brothers nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dear Mistress leave our father alone!!!! He use to show up to everything now he’s never home!!!!! He use to be so nice to our mom, now all we see is her trying so hard. Cooking and cleaning. Doing everything he ask. Do you really think our mom is the problem? Is that what he told you? Well let me set the record straight it’s not our mom who’s the problem, the problem is you!!!! With your no strings attached clause and your house with no kids or noise. How dare you give him a place to sit and do nothing while he neglects his responsibilities at home that our mom has now taken on. God how it hurt when we heard her begging you on the phone to please leave her husband and our father alone!!!!!!!! BTW we still hear him tell our mom he loves her everyday. We also still see them smile and play. Hey Mistress Why don’t you leave us alone. There’s no place for you here go find your own man. Did you notice he hasn’t left us or his home. For God sake you are tearing a family apart. Who do you think you are to break all our hearts. If he does ever leave I’ll tell you this. We will never except you period. Even if we’re forced to be around you you’ll still just be his MISTRESS!!!!!!!!!

Dear Mistress it’s sad to say that when you’re long gone they’ll still be cleaning up the mess that you made. You keep pointing the finger and placing the blame but dear old mistress you should be ashamed. What is that you see when you look in the mirror it has to be a reflection of a loser or a cheater!!!

Who or what is it that hurt you so bad that you would want to wreak havoc on another sister from what happen to you in your past?

One day you’ll want to be number one but oops to bad that’s when KARMA WILL COME!!!!!!

Dear Mistress I’m sad to say that I’m not pointing fingers cause I use to see a reflection of you when I looked in the mirror.

So Dear Mistress please leave my Sister’s, Mother’s, Cousins, Aunties, Nieces, Best Friends and my man alone so that we can RESTORE OUR ONCE HAPPY HOMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
